personal 100daystooffload

This year, I attempted doing the 100 Days To Offload challenge. My first thoughts around that are written here. As of this writing, I wrote 34 posts across my blog (8) and journal (26). 34 is obviously much less than 100 but I am pretty happy with the outcome. Without taking this challenge on, I would not have written much at all.

To compare, here are my annual number of posts (⚫ is blog ⭘ is journal post):

  1. 2014: ⚫⚫⚫⚫ = 4
  2. 2015: ⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫ = 9
  3. 2016: ⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫ = 5
  4. 2017: ⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫ = 8
  5. 2018: ⚫⚫⚫⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘ = 24
  6. 2019: ⚫⚫⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘ = 19
  7. 2020: ⚫⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘ = 18
  8. 2021: ⚫⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘ = 7
  9. 2022: ⚫⚫⭘⭘⭘ = 5
  10. 2023: ⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘ = 17
  11. 2024: ⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘⭘ = 34

I think count based challenges like #100daystooffload are prone to cheating but when used primarily as personal productivity tools they can really help. In any case, I don't think I will be taking this challenge the next year. Pushing from 34 to 100 won't provide me much value since I want to take time and write denser content. In case I do feel like taking a goal, maybe something like 50 could work out better.
