Another busy work week.
2 Readings/Explorations
- All the Languages Together from Strange Loop. Main idea is to use type preserving compilation and to define certain properties as linking types across languages.
- I heart hangry bagel droids (or: How new words form) | Linguamonium
- State-of-the-art speech recognition with sequence-to-sequence models (chiu2018state)
3 Programming
Changed the design of pigeon to fallback to python syntax when needed. This
along with possibility to use lisp syntax in between feels like a much more
practical way to go forward than to try and support every arbitrary python
feature. Consider, for example, decorators like the following (assume @{
is the
python code indicator):
@{@decorator} (defun something () ...)
5 Media
- Resumed Sandman, finished A Game of You.
- Finished The Society of Mind.
- The Case for Studying the Human Dataome, pretty much about bit representation of memes.
- When science hits a limit, learn to ask different questions
- It’s dangerous to think virtual reality is an empathy machine
